Aiming to spread the message of green and clean environment, a special campaign of “एक पेड मॉ के नाम“ (‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’) was observed by the Indian Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (North West Region) at Gandhinagar on Friday. The tree plantation drive was carried out at ICG land at Lekawada, Gandhinagar, says a Defence release.
Inspector General Tekur Sashi Kumar, TM, Commander, Coast Guard Region (NW) inaugurated the special event. Over 200 uniformed Officers/Men and civilians of ICG participated with zeal and enthusiasm in the event.
It may be noted that Indian Coast Guard is entrusted with duties for maritime environmental protection at sea and routinely undertakes such initiatives over land also, to promote environmental consciousness.
