The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) with a purpose of cleanliness and protection of beaches launched “Naari Shakti – Swachhta se Suraksha Tak” campaign, a unique initiative of inclusiveness of fisherwomen towards ensuring the same. The campaign has been flagged off by Kavita Harbola, Regional President Tatrakshika (North West) in the presence of the Regional Commander on Wednesday from Swarnim Park, Gandhinagar.

ICG wives and women Officers will travel to the coastal areas of Gujarat and interact with women of major fishing hamlets of Gujarat from Wednesday to Saturday, sensitizing them on secure seas, beach cleanliness and personal hygiene as part of Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The four-day,campaign covering about 1,200 kms of Gujarat coast and villages enroute, is a prelude to the series of activities planned in the run up to International Coastal Cleanup Day on September 17, 2022.
Gujarat Fisheries Department and Marine Police Gujarat will also participate in the campaign. Lions Club Gandhinagar and Mood of Wood, the furniture house is supporting Tatrakshikas in this cause.
