The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Thursday rescued three stranded persons from Floating Production Unit (FPU) Tahara located 30 NM off Cuddalore at sea in Tamil Nadu, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

“In a valiant act, Coast Guard Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) rescued 03 stranded persons from Floating Production Unit (FPU) Tahara located 30 NM off Cuddalore at sea. The FPU is falling right on the track of Cyclone Mandous. During the night of Wenesday, the Coast Guard received information from the office of Director General of Hydrocarbon about personnel stranded in FPU Tahara and requested for emergency evacuation,” the statement said.
Despite the prevalent fury of cyclone, Coast Guard ALH took off at sun rise on Thursday and braved the situation, evacuating three precious lives.
