Indian Coast Guard (ICG) personnel rescued a seriously injured Myanmar national from mid sea in the intervening night of Friday/Saturday (January 10/11).
According to ICG, its headquarters in Porbandar had received a distress call from MRCC (Mumbai) to evacuate a Myanmar national Myo San (39) who needs medical emergency on Friday afternoon.
On receiving information, ICG ship C-445 sailed out to mid sea around 1 p.m.to rescue the Myanmar national from a civil vessel MV Fortune Wing which was sailing at a distance of 78 nautical miles from Porbandar coast. The ICG ship carried out evacuation around 6.45 p.m.
The Myanmar national was disembarked from ICG ship C-445 at 12.30 a.m. on Saturday at coast guard jetty in stable condition and was shifted to a hospital in Rajkot by road.
