The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ship C-413 rescued two fishermen from a sinking fishing boat off Okha coast in Gujarat on Monday.
“On Monday early morning, the owner of a fishing approached ICG District Headquarters at Okha and reported flooding onboard Indian Fishing Boat (IFB) Ratna Sagar. ICG responded promptly and immediately fast interceptor class of ship ICGS C-413 was sailed and ALH helicopter from Porbandar was also deployed,” a Defence press release said.

The ICG ship proceeded with maximum speed to the datum which was 10 nm off Okha and the ALH helicopter hovered around the boat so as to vector the ICG ship towards the same. The other vessels operating in the vicinity were also alerted. The boat was observed to be flooded heavily, and submerged in water.
The crew finally abandoned the boat which eventually sank. The floating crew were picked up safely by the ICG Ship and brought to Okha and handed over to the owner, the statement added.
