Indian Coast Guard (ICG) personnel safely evacuated a critically-ill fisherman from the South Coast of Diu, an ICG release said.

The release said, “In yet another well-coordinated and expeditious response, ICG lived upto its Motto ‘We Protect’, wherein, an Interceptor Boat ICGS C-149 who tasked for a life saving mission, thus saving a precious life on 11 November 2024.’’
Swiftly responding to a call for rendering assistance to a critically ill fisherman onboard Indian Fishing Boat (IFB) Dhan Prasad (Reg No. IND-GJ-14-0597), about 60 km at sea South East of Diu, ICGS Pipavav diverted ICGS C-419 for immediate medical evacuation.
ICGS C-419 reached datum and safely evacuated the patient. Post providing first-aid assistance, the ship entered RNEL Jetty, Pipavav and all vitals were checked by Station Medical Officer. The patient was shifted to Local Hospital at Rajula for further medical management in presence of family members. The condition of patient is reported stable, the release added.
