- Students aspiring to become CS Specialists will have the option to appear in elective papers

Keeping in view the developments that are taking place in the financial, economic, social, technological, legal and regulatory environment and the New Education Policy (NEP), the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is gearing up to introduce new syllabus in June 2023, says national president CS Devendra V Deshpande said here on Saturday.
Taking part in various events organised by the Ahmedabad Chapter of the ICSI, Deshpande conferred the Country’s Best Chapter Award for the year 2020 on Ahmedabad Chapter. He also addressed on the theme “Company Secretary – A Perfect Professional.”
Ahead of adapting the new syllabus, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India Stakeholders Consultation Survey will be made available for all stakeholders till July 16 to solicit their views. The views of the stakeholders will be studied and considered in the final syllabus which will be released in the national meet to be held in Kolkata from September 1 to 3 this year. This new syllabus will come into effect in June 2023. The new syllabus will help the CS aspirants to get international exposure and also get job opportunities abroad and domestic corporate firms, Deshpande added.
The Syllabus will take intoaccount Alignment with National Education Policy, including introduction of credit system, pedagogy providing for experiential learning and skill based education and Technology Enabled Student Centric: providing flexible course curriculum with more electives. Alignment with changing expectations of industry, regulators and other stakeholders Give more emphasis to areas which are not subject to technology automation.
