NE EDUCATION BUREAU

GANDHINAGAR, OCT 23

IIT Gandhinagar is set to introduce its newest e-Masters degree programme in Composites, designed to equip industry professionals and engineering enthusiasts with advanced skills in composite materials design, manufacturing, tooling, processing, testing, and cutting-edge technologies. Participants will also delve into quality compliance and certification standards, ensuring a comprehensive skill set.

The programme is structured to accommodate working professionals, offering a flexible two-year schedule with live teaching sessions and discussions during evenings and weekends, along with self-paced learning modules.

The curriculum, developed with insights from industry experts, provides an ideal blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, covering a wide range of topics relevant to various engineering applications. Whether in aerospace, automotive, defence, sports, or marine industries, participants will gain the expertise needed to address current and future challenges in the field of composite materials.

Specifically tailored for professionals with backgrounds in engineering, materials science, or related disciplines, the executive-friendly programme aims to upskill participants, enabling them to lead and innovate in the composites sector—vital for advancing sustainable engineering solutions.

In addition to its rigorous academic content, IIT Gandhinagar offers mentorship, placement support, and access to career and library services, further enhancing the programme’s value. Graduates will also enjoy IIT Gandhinagar alumni status, unlocking a wealth of professional and networking opportunities.

Prof Ravi Ayyagari, Associate Professor and Programme Coordinator of the e-Masters in Composites at IIT Gandhinagar, commented, “The e-Masters Programme in Composites is a unique initiative aimed at nurturing and upskilling engineers to meet the ever-growing demands across various industrial segments. Our goal is to create a workforce capable of driving innovation, delivering R&D solutions, and embracing state-of-the-art technologies to boost productivity and efficiency within the industrial ecosystem, thereby contributing to India’s growth story.”

The e-Masters programme does not require a GATE qualification for admission, nor does it demand a thesis for graduation. Instead, participants will undertake two real-world Capstone Projects, providing hands-on insights to tackle industry challenges effectively.

This marks the third e-Masters degree programme launched by IIT Gandhinagar, further cementing its commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.

Admissions for the first cohort are open, with the programme scheduled to commence in May 2025.
