The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) is set to participate in a virtual interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
This interaction will focus on the Semiconductor Mission of India and the various opportunities it presents for academic institutions. Prior to the virtual interaction of Prime Minister, IIT Gandhinagar will be organising a workshop from 9.30 – 10.30 am on ‘The Relevance of Semiconductor Mission of India, and Opportunities for Academic Institutions’ which will be addressed by eminent experts from Industry and academia.
The event will see participation from several higher educational institutes across the country. Additionally, more than 500 students, faculty, and staff will engage in the programme from IITGN. The Prime Minister’s address will highlight the significance and future trajectory of India’s semiconductor mission, and the crucial role of educational institutions in this domain.
The India Semiconductor Mission aims to develop a comprehensive strategy for developing semiconductors and display manufacturing facilities and semiconductor design ecosystem in the country. The mission plans to develop these strategies in collaboration with academic institutions, government departments, and agencies among others.
