Necessity is the mother of all invention. One such innovation was born as a result of the partnership of Eureka Forbes with Bengaluru based scientist, Dr.Rajah Vijay Kumar of SHYCOCAN. This device is manufactured and marketed in India by Eureka Forbes under the brand name FORBES CORONAGUARD (Powered by SHYCOCAN). This innovative PMEE technology ‘physically attenuates’ the homing mechanism on the virus and prevents infectivity, eliminating the bridge between the virus and the human cells, says a senior official of the company.

Eureka Forbes is proud to announce that the air disinfection efficiency of ‘Forbes Coronaguard’ has been tested and proven by the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. The testing of air disinfection efficiency was conducted against Avian Coronavirus which is of the same family as SARS COV-2.
The experiments conducted by IIT, Guwahati, housing equipment as per BSL II specifications, have proven that Forbes Coronaguard has a notable effect on the inactivation of Avian Coronavirus within the test chamber. The report from the said test conclusively proved the air disinfection efficiency of Forbes Coronaguard.
IIT Guwahati also conducted a ‘cell toxicity study’ to establish the safety of Forbes Coronaguard in human cells. The report has again conclusively proven the non-toxic nature of Forbes Coronaguard.
Forbes Coronaguard from Eureka Forbes has received multiple other certifications/ approvals on – Viricidal and Disinfection Efficiency; Cellular viability and toxicity study to confirm human and animal safety; Electrical Safety; Ozone Emission and Electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing.
Earlier, Forbes Coronaguard had also been tested at Laboratorios de Especialidades Inmunológicas S.A. de C.V., authorized by COFEPRIS tested with Equine Arteritis virus, which belongs to the same order of coronaviruses and the attenuation efficiency was confirmed at 99.9%.
IAPMO – Aquadiagnostics (NABL & WQA approved Lab) had tested the MS2 Phage, the hardest non-enveloped virus (EPA approved surrogate for aerosol testing),, and confirmed the attenuation efficiency at 99.99%. IIT Guwahati study was conducted against Avian coronavirus, which belongs to the same coronaviridae family and the attenuation efficiency was found to be100%.
