- Professor Asmita Kabra of Ambedkar University, Delhi to deliver the social justice address on Monday

The Humanities and Social Services Department of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar is hosting a seminar on ‘Cheetahs in Kuno: making of environmental subjectivities’ on Monday.
The Social Justice Seminar will be addressed by Professor Asmita Kabra of Ambedkar University, Delhi.
Professor Asmita Kabra works on the interface of critical development studies and political ecology. Her interdisciplinary research includes biodiversity conservation and rural livelihoods, involuntary displacement, agrarian change, social impact assessment and political economy of natural resource governance. She is the founder and president of the NGO Adharshila and Founder trustee of the NGO Samrakshan Trust. She has a PhD in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her doctoral work was on the impact of conservation-induced displacement on the livelihood of Adivasi communities. This was among India’s first full length studies of such displacement. She is currently the Managing Editor of Ecology, Economy and Society.
