The Institute of Infrastructure Technology Research and Management on Tuesday announced that its Department of Civil Engineering is conducting a 5-day Short Term Training Programme of Gujarat Urban Development Institute (GUDI), Government of Gujarat for Practicing Engineers of various municipal corporations across Gujarat on ‘Road and Bridge Infrastructure’ from Nov. 18-22, 2024.
“A total of 34 practicing engineers are being trained across 5 days on topics like Pavement Design, Evaluation and Strengthening of Rigid and Flexible Pavements, Quality control of Road Works, and Geotechnical Investigations for Roads and Bridges and topics related to Bridge constructions and related challenges. The programme includes several site visits and laboratory sessions for thorough learning,” says a release.
Dr. I.P. Gautam, retired IAS and Director General of GUDI addressed the participants and motivated them to participate in such training programmes and get updated about the recent technologies. In-charge Director General of IITRAM, Prof. M.K. Barua said, “Such short-term training programmes aim to enhance the skills of practicing engineers on latest technologies and helps them to perform better.” He encouraged discussions to further the understanding.
