The Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research and Management (IITRAM), Ahmedabad, hosted InfraVision 2047, a two-day student competition showcasing innovative, smart, sustainable and disaster-resilient infrastructure concepts. The event was organised by the Department of Civil Engineering.

Aligned with Prime Ministe Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the initiative aimed to inspire young civil engineers to contribute to a future-ready, climate-resilient India through forward-looking engineering solutions.
This year’s edition saw enthusiastic participation from 30 teams across four universities in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Students competed in three segments—Model Making, Poster Presentation and Quiz—highlighting technical skills, creativity and an awareness of global infrastructure challenges.
The event was inaugurated by IITRAM Director Prof. M. K. Barua in the presence of more than 100 faculty members, students and guests. In his address, he underscored the need to nurture young talent to accelerate India’s infrastructure ambitions for 2047.
Faculty coordinators Dr. Trudeep Dave, Dr. Ayyanna Habal and Dr. Nishant Sharma noted that InfraVision 2047 serves as an essential platform for exploring solutions in climate resilience, sustainable materials, urban development and disaster preparedness.
Across two days, students presented visionary models, research-backed posters and demonstrated competitive spirit in quiz rounds, fostering interdisciplinary learning and collaboration.
Awards and certificates were presented during the valedictory ceremony, where the organising committee thanked participating institutions, judges, faculty members and student volunteers for making the event a success.
