The Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru announced the results of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2024), held from February 03-11, 2024 across 30 disciplines, on Saturday, March 16. A total of 6.8 lakh candidates applied for the examination.
Through the results of the exam, candidates will be able to secure admission to post graduate MTech courses at IISc and IITs.
A counselling will be held based on the results of the exam to facilitate the admission of students in the IITs, NITs and IISc, along with several other institutes accepting GATE Result.
Victor Azad, a B.Tech (Electrical Engineering) student of IITRAM, Ahmedabad secured an All India Rank (AIR) 8 in Electronics & Communication Engineering and AIR 628 in Computer Science & Information Technology. He plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from IISc, Bangalore.
GATE is a national level examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts.
Some foreign universities also accept GATE score for admissions like National University of Singapore. Public Sector Undertakings in India also consider GATE score for hiring like Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) etc.
