The first-ever UNESCO-designated world heritage site in Gujarat, the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, came to life with a spectacular celebration, inaugural edition of Champaner Festival, featuring image-transforming shadow light effects and thematic music on Saturday.
The Champaner Festival 2023, an extraordinary celebration of heritage and creativity by Crraft Of Art, was an evening to remember. From the soulful tunes of ‘Mor Bani Thanghaat Kare’ by Osman Mir to the classical duet performance by Tabla maestro Ustad Fazal Qureshi and Sitar player Niladri Kumar, the festival left the audience captivated. The festival also showcased a myriad of performances, including the traditional arts of Bhavai, Ravanhatha, a majestic giant puppet parade, the rhythmic beats of the Nagara troupe, the tribal dance of Rathwas, the vibrant Pithora Lakhara, and more. The world concert featured Anil Poduval, and group performances by George Brooks, Sangeet Haldipur, Sheldon D’silva, Darshan Doshi, and Ustad Fazal Qureshi. The concert concluded with an electric performance by all the artists with Osman Mir’s ‘Lal Meri Patt’ bringing the audience together.
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and Gujarat Tourism were the sponsors of the Champaner Festival.
