Following the success of the first day of “History Literature Festival” – India’s first and only literature festival focused entirely on history – the second day also received encouraging response from people from all walks of life. The two-day festival was attended by over 1,000 people and ended successfully on Sunday.

On Day-2, there were sessions by experts on diverse topics like the typewriter & computer in business history, history of the princely states of Gujarat, history of Indian cuisine, significant moments in Hindi cinema and history of Indian philosophy.

- The closing session ‘Baithak: Weaving the Threads of History’ witnessed speakers and audience together reflecting upon the histories and stories unravelled over the Festival
In first session titled ‘Ding, Ding, Click, Click: The Typewriter and Computer in Business History’, an expert on the history of the IT industry Dayasindhu N and India’s leading archivist – currently heading Godrej Archives – Vrunda Pathare unraveled the business history of these legendary everyday machines and their impact on society.

Thereafter, Maharana Thakore Saheb Somrraj Singh Jhala of Sayla and Yuvraj Shree Yograjsinh of Mansa in conversation with Amit Arora covered the ‘Rare Royal Tales: Unravelling histories of Gujarat’ by discussing some of the lesser-known realities and stories from royal families and princely states around the period of India’s independence. This was followed by a session on ‘History of Indian cuisine, simplified’ by Sonal Ved in conversation with a student, Nandita Agarwal.
Kanchan Marathe – who has produced films like ‘Andhadhun’ and involved with shows like Jamtara -Prakash Magdum – an administrative officer who headed National Film Archive and FTII – and the six-time national award winner – Arunaraje Patil in conversation with Sathya Saran conversed on ‘Pebbles in the silver stream: Significant moments in Hindi cinema’ by giving interesting information about the entertainment industry.
Well-known classical dancer, actor, and writer Mallika Sarabhai and a business leader and the best selling author – Ami Ganatra in conversation with Shishir Saxena talked on ‘Ethics and Epics: History of Indian Philosophy’ by celebrating the richness and continuing vitality of the two-millennia old epics, Ramayana & Mahabharata, with bountiful stories coupled with philosophical approach.
The closing session ‘Baithak: Weaving the Threads of History’ witnessed speakers and audience together reflecting upon the histories and stories unravelled over the Festival. Through all these discoveries, the Baithak will thread and draw connections across all the themes of this edition so as to develop a more complete view of history.
