The Income Tax Department on Tuesday announced the establishment of the Taxpayers’ Hub in Madurai Convention Centre, Thamukkam Ground, Gandhi Musuem Road, Madurai, scheduled to operate from Wednesday to Friday -January 29 to 31, 2025. This initiative is part of the Department’s mission to provide invaluable insights, resources, and assistance to taxpayers across the nation, says a department release.
- It is an outreach programme to empower taxpayers with knowledge, provide them any information they need on tax related matters, solve their grievances and spread tax awareness along with financial literacy
- Educating the tax payers about the rights and obligations under the Income Tax Act is one of the main objectives of this initiative
- The Hub will witness the use of innovative methods like virtual reality games, quiz competition, magic shows and nukkad natak
At the heart of the Taxpayers’ Hub is a comprehensive set of kiosks, each designed to address specific taxpayer needs:
Informational Kiosks
These kiosks serve as a one-stop source for essential tax-related information and updates. Taxpayers can access accurate and up-to-date guidance to navigate their tax responsibilities effectively.
Grievance Kiosks
Dedicated to resolving taxpayers’ concerns, the grievance kiosk provides personalized assistance to address issues, ensuring a hassle-free experience for visitors.
Educational Kiosks
Designed to empower taxpayers and promote responsible financial planning, these kiosks offer guidance on tax compliance and planning, helping individuals make informed financial decisions.
Children’s Corner
A unique and interactive space to engage young minds, the Children’s Corner introduces the basics of taxation and financial responsibility in a fun and creative way. This initiative aims to instill financial literacy at an early age, paving the way for a more financially aware generation.
Brochure Stands:
Physical copies of informative brochures are readily available to ensure visitors leave with comprehensive knowledge of their rights and responsibilities as taxpayers.

The upcoming three-day program will feature outreach sessions of various divisions, including TDS, Intelligence & Criminal Investigation and exemptions.
In addition to the above outreach, the program will include sessions and interactions with primary agricultural cooperatives societies, colleges and school students to make them aware about the basics of taxation. These sessions will take place in taxpayers’ hub at Madurai offering valuable insights about the different provisions of taxation.
