CHENNAI, MARCH 12
A team of Income Tax officials have once again visited actor Thalapathy Vijay’s residence on Thursday purportedly to open the sealed rooms and drawers during the search conducted during last month and not for conducting search, Income Tax officials said.
An IT official told “navjeevanexpress.com’’ that it was a routine procedure. Investigation wing of the IT officials went to Vijay’s residence to verify the documents in a sealed room at the actor’s residence.
IT officials had raided the residence of the actor regarding payments received for ‘Bigil’ movie earlier last month.
“After the temporary conclusion of the search conducted during last month, officials had kept the documents in a sealed room in the residence. They had gone again to verify the documents in those rooms and not to conduct search, as was reported in few media’’ Income Tax sources clarified.
Two days ago, ‘Master’ coproducer Lalithkumar also came under the scanner a couple of days ago.
Fans of Thalapathy Vijay see this as political vendetta as the megastar is expected to make strong critical statements against the ruling parties at the ‘Master’ audio launch on March 15.
Earlier last month the IT officials raided the ‘Master’ shooting spot in Neyveli and then took Vijay back to Chennai for a thirty five hour probe.
Vijay is currently abroad on a short vacation and is expected to return home in time for the audio launch, sources close the actor said.
