The Ahmedabad International Book Festival 2025, held from November 13 to 23, has emerged as a vibrant learning space for students and youth—where books meet technology, creativity and culture. One of the biggest attractions this year is India Post’s Stall No. 95, which has become a hotspot for young visitors eager to understand how the nation’s postal and communication systems work.

India Post is showcasing a wide range of services, including Speed Post, Parcel Booking, Gyan Post, Parcel Packaging, Philately, My Stamp, Ganga Jal sales, and digital banking via India Post Payments Bank. Students, book lovers and publishers are sending books across India and overseas directly from the festival grounds. Postal Savings Services and Postal Life Insurance booths are adding to the learning experience.

A senior India Post official said the Book Festival is a powerful platform that brings readers, writers and publishers together while encouraging young people to rediscover the joy of reading. He added that India Post’s stall is giving students a rare chance to explore philately, which helps them understand the nation’s cultural heritage, historic milestones and artistic traditions through beautifully designed stamps.

Stamps as Learning Tools

The Gujarat-themed My Stamp series is receiving overwhelming response, especially from school and college visitors. Popular themes include:

  • Mahatma Gandhi at Sabarmati Ashram
  • The Kite Festival
  • Traditional Dandiya dance

For children and youth, these stamps serve as fun, engaging mini-lessons on India’s past and present, making learning visual and exciting. The stall is helping many first-time visitors realise how stamps tell stories about India’s freedom movement, festivals, monuments, sports, and scientific achievements.

Youth-Friendly Activities and Collectibles

The Superintendent of Post Offices, Ahmedabad Division, highlighted that many students are enjoying the unique experience of mailing books or cards directly from the festival—some posting letters describing their day at the event.

Young visitors are drawn to the diverse philatelic products displayed, such as:

  • Special covers
  • Ramayana stamps
  • Scented commemorative stamps
  • Khadi and regional picture postcards
  • Olympic-themed stamps
  • Alphabetical philately books
  • Coffee mugs, T-shirts and collectibles

A personalized My Stamp sheet of 12 stamps costs just ₹300, making it a popular choice among youth as a creative keepsake or gift.

India Post’s presence is not only enriching the cultural environment of the Book Festival but also introducing thousands of students and young readers to the power of communication, creative expression and national heritage—all through the simple yet fascinating world of books and stamps.
