The Indian Air Force on Wednesday announced that the skies over the White Rann would be painted red for two days – Friday and Saturday – on 31 January and 01 February 2025, as the Indian Air Force Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) would be performing over the White Rann.
The team will put up a scintillating display of precision flying, demonstrating the skills, professionalism and capabilities of Indian Air Force pilots enthralling the spectators. The Aerobatic Air display by the IAF famous nine-aircraft Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team will be projecting professionalism and precision- the two hallmarks of Indian Air Force.
Indian Air Force renowned Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team was formed in 1996 and is among the very few nine-aircraft aerobatic teams in the world and the only one in Asia. This one of kind team has carried out more than 500 displays in India, besides showcasing the professionalism of the Indian Air Force in Air Shows abroad at China, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore and UAE. The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team, popularly known as SKAT, inherits the motto “Sadaiva Sarvottam with ease, aptly describing the adage “Always the best”.
This event will not only showcase the extraordinary skills of the pilots but will also provide an opportunity for the public, specially school children and college students to witness the dedication and excellence of the Indian Air Force. The spectators are requested to be seated by 03:30 pm at the Rann Utsav site to witness the Air Show.
Meanwhile, the officials said the Air Force show by Surya Kiran had earlier been organised in Jamnagar on January 25-26, 2025; Nalia on January 29, 2025 in Gujarat.
