AHMEDABAD, JULY 19
A week ahead of 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations, under the Indian Army’s Outreach Programme, a team from the Indian Army visited the family of late soldier Naik Rajat Rumal Bhai Ravaji Bhai, at Doli village, Santrampur taluka, Mahisagar district on Saturday.

Led by Naib Subedar MV Reddy along with Regiment Havildar Major Rajeesh, Havildar Sayooj, the team met the martyr’s family and presented a personalised letter from the General Officer Commanding, a welfare book and a commemorative memento to his wife, Jaliya Ben.

The team understood the family’s requirements, promising support and action at the earliest, a Defence release said.

The outreach initiative honours the families of fallen soldiers ahead of Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed annually on July 26 to commemorate India’s victory in the Kargil War.
Ex-servicemen, students, and local residents, including dignitaries from the Ex-Servicemen Association were present.
