GANDHINAGAR, JUNE 18

All units under the Indian Coast Guard Headquarters, Region North West are continuing with response action at sea post landfall of cyclone Biparjoy. Coastal recce and extensive sorties are being undertaken to check any adrift boat or objects at sea, says a Defence release..

“The ICG ships, 03 Dornier aircraft & ALH MK3 helicopters are being comprehensively deployed in multi-mission mode for monitoring coasts, with emphasis on ports / harbours at Okha, Vadinar, Jakhau and Mandvi for damage assessment and response post landfall of Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ at Kutch Coast,” the statement added.

Post landfall, ICG Dornier aircraft & ICG MK3 helicopters have already undertaken 06 sorties across the Gujarat coast. No adrift boat or objects have been reported so far.

The ICG ships & aircraft had started warning mariners from  June 6 onwards to go to safer areas. A total of 39 ship days and 30 air sorties were undertaken specifically for that purpose. Six exclusive community interactions were conducted with fishermen and their leaders.
