Inspector General Anand Prakash Badola, TM, Commander Indian Coast Guard Region (East) on Thursday (July 8, 2021) visited Coast Guard District Headquarters at Puducherry and Indian Coast Guard Station at Karaikal to review operational preparedness and infrastructure development, a release from Defence PRO said.
This is his maiden visit to Puducherry and Karaikal after he took charge as Commander, Coast Guard Region (East) on June 11, 2021.
During his maiden visit, the District Commander, Puducherry briefed the Regional Commander regarding the prevailing Coastal Security Scenario along the coast of Puducherry and Karaikal.
The Regional Commander also reviewed the Coast Guard infrastructure projects in Puducherry and Karaikal which are essential for enhanced operational capability of Coast Guard at Puducherry and Karaikal.
Further, the Regional Commander complimented the Coast Guard personnel, who man the strategically important stations, for maintaining high alertness and giving quick response for Search and Rescue capability in the Area of Responsibility, enhancing coastal security and assisting the fishermen in distress, the release added.
