A 37-year-old fisherman was evacuated by the Indian Coast Guard from a boat on Wednesday after he was critically injured and required urgent medical attention.
According to the Indian Coast Guard’s statement, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Station Pipavav evacuated one critically injured patient aged – 37 years, from an Indian Fishing Boat named Pushkar Raj, 50 Km from the coast in Gulf of Khambat on 03 Apr 2024.
Following the request, the Coast Guard’s Guard Ship C-409 was launched in the Arabian Sea for medical evacuation of the patient.
On receipt of information, ICG Interceptor Boat C-409 was diverted from routine deployment by Maritime Rescue Sub Centre, Pipavav. Interceptor Boat on reaching scene of action, established communication with the IFB and patient who sustain fracture in his let foot and ankle was safely evacuated and later shifted to Govt. Hospital for further medical management, the statement added.
