The Indian Coast Guard announced that it has conducted a one-day “Maritime Search and Rescue Workshop” in Porbandar on Tuesday, says a release.

It was conducted by the Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 1, Porbandar to focus on coordination amongst stakeholders for effective Search and Rescue (SAR) operations at sea. ICG is the National Maritime SAR conducting authority with DGICG chairing National Maritime SAR board, the statement added.
The conference was attended by representatives from the Coast Guard, Navy, Marine Police Gujarat and UT Police of Diu, Customs, ISRO, Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) Khambat, Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) Kutch and the Airport Authority of India. The gathering revalidated the existing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on SAR.
The visiting delegation also presented the latest developments in their respective fields/departments.
