The boat was stranded due to engine failure, a Coast Guard release said.
The Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Sub Centre, Porbandar unit rescued the fishermen on Sunday, after receiving information that an Indian Fishing Boat had not returned to the harbour.
“The Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre (MRCC) in Mumbai on Saturday at 11:45 pm intimated the Maritime Rescue Sub Centre, Porbandar regarding the stranded Indian fishing boat ‘Rosanna’ (Regd No. IND-TN-15-MM-5524) due to engine failure with 09 crew onboard at about 120 kms off Mangrol,” the statement said.
The Indian Coast Guard Ship Shoor, which was on operational patrol, was immediately diverted to provide necessary assistance to the boat. The boat which had suffered the engine defect due to fuel water contamination could not be rectified at sea.
