The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) Gujarat branch hosted an insightful virtual session on “Turning Adversity into Opportunity: How Indian companies emerged as champions in the pandemic and served US counterparts” on Thursday, where esteemed speakers shared their experiences of working during the pandemic times.
Addressing the session, Satish Patel, CEO & Founder, Analytix Business Solutions, a leading outsourcing company specialising in providing technology-enabled solutions to businesses, said, “The initial days of the pandemic were a completely different experience. Work from home created a lot of challenges, and many businesses weren’t ready for it, the mindset wasn’t there. Our team provided services round the clock to support clients, many of who did not know how to use online tools, and helped them stay open for business.”
Analytix did not lay off a single employee during the pandemic, and in fact, has added 100 people since the beginning of this year, and still 100 more openings. Rajiv Bhatia, President & Country Head, Analytix Business Solutions, said the company focused on Security, Engagement, Value Creation, and Adaptability (SEVA) to keep the morale high.
“We formed a Covid help-desk to extend necessary support to employees in finding hospital beds, blood, drugs, etc., and also undertook a lot of initiatives aimed at their mental and physical wellbeing,” he shared. Analytix is exploring a hybrid model where employees have the flexibility to work from home.
Jaydeep Ruparelia, CEO & Co-Founder of Infopercept Consulting, a leading Managed Security Services Provider, said work from homemade clients vulnerable to cyberattacks, but they could secure clients networks and ensure operations are not affected. “The digital world has problems similar to the real world. Adversaries are on the lookout for vulnerabilities, and we focused our efforts on ensuring endpoint security. Our teams worked very closely with clients, including those in the US, to secure their work environment. We created new processes and solutions to ensure they were safe from cyber adversaries,” Jaydeep said, adding earlier security operations were for eight hours a day but have become a 24×7 function now.
In his welcome remarks, Shailesh Goyal, Chairman, IACC Gujarat Branch, gave a brief outline about the chamber’s activities and its role as a pre-eminent trade body in strengthening India and US relations.
