Senior Journalist Ravish Tiwari passed away in New Delhi  last night. Tiwari had worked with reputed news organisations, including The Economic Times,  India Today and was working as the Chief of National Bureau and Political Editor of The Indian Express.

An engineering graduate from IIT Bombay in metallurgy and material science, and a post graduate in Comparative Social Policy from the university of Oxford, Tiwari was also a recipient of the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship. Tiwari’s career in journalism was marked by insightful stories and analyses on political developments and social matters.

Senior journalist Vikas Bhadauria gave the news of the death of Ravish Tiwari on Twitter. He tweeted and wrote, ‘Raveesh Tiwari, an intense journalist, a good person and my dear friend, passed away yesterday (Friday) night. The last rites will be performed today at 3.30 pm in Sector-20, Gurgaon.”

Commenting on his death, Express Group’s chairman Viveck Goenka described him as a “rare, unique voice in our profession” whose work “will be an enduring inspiration for the newsroom and beyond”.

Indian Express chief editor Raj Kamal Jha was quoted as saying that Tiwari’s “shoes cannot be filled but they shall sit in a very special corner of the newsroom for ever,” Express Group website reported.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed their condolences on the demise of Tiwari.

PM Modi said he was insightful and humble. Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister said, “Destiny has taken away Ravish Tiwari too soon. A bright career in the media world comes to an end. I would enjoy reading his reports and would also periodically interact with him. He was insightful and humble. Condolences to his family and many friends. Om Shanti.”

For Ravish Tiwari, journalism was a passion, and he chose it over lucrative professions. He had an enviable knack for reporting and incisive commentary. His sudden and shocking demise silences a distinct voice in news media. My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

President Kovind said, “For Ravish Tiwari, journalism was a passion, and he chose it over lucrative professions. He had an enviable knack for reporting and incisive commentary. Vice President of the country Venkaiah Naidu said, ‘I am hurt by the untimely demise of eminent journalist Ravish Tiwari. He has made a big mark in the world of journalism with his fearless and insightful reporting. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Shocked and pained to learn about the untimely demise of, Ravish Tiwari. He was a young, bright and professional journalist, full of life. My condolences to his family and friends. May God give them strength to bear the irreparable loss. Om Shanti.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also condoled the death of Tiwari. He wrote, ‘Shocked and saddened to learn about the untimely demise of Ravish Tiwari. He was a young, bright and professional journalist who was full of life. My condolences to his family and friends. May God give them the strength to bear this irreparable loss.

The untimely demise of senior journalist Ravish Tiwari is extremely saddening. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues from the newsroom. May God bless his soul.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also condoled the death of Ravish Tiwari by tweeting. He wrote, ‘Deeply saddened by the untimely demise of senior journalist Ravish Tiwari. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues in the newsroom. May his soul rest in peace.

मेरी संवेदनाएं शोक संतप्त परिजनों के साथ हैं।

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote, ‘The demise of senior journalist Ravish Tiwari ji is extremely sad. My condolences are with the bereaved families.
