An Indian startup has been shortlisted for the 4YFN, world’s largest mobile industry startup conference. Out of several hundreds of startups which applied for the 4YFN at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona five were shortlisted. The winner will be picked up by a panel at the conference. 4FYN is the startup event of the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry, GSMA MWC. The goal is to support startups, investors and companies to connect and launch new business ventures together.

India’s Yabx has created financial behavioral models based on AI and machine learning which can be used by telecom operators, banks and financial service organizations to provide credit to the over 2 billion unbanked or underserved customers in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. It is one of five finalists in an Impact startup competition organized by 4YFN.
4YFN (4 Years From Now) is the startup business platform that enables startups, investors and large corporations to connect and launch new business ventures together – now taking place at MWC Barcelona, June 28 to July 1.
“The 4YFN Impact Awards aims to find the best digital startups around the globe that are making a positive impact by getting us closer to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. This is the highest official recognition offered exclusively to startups during MWC & 4YFN Barcelona.
GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, uniting more than 750 operators with almost 400 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and internet companies. Every year, the MWC attracted a large crowd of industry experts, investors and others. The conference will be held in February every year but due to the pandemic, it has been postponed to June. Around 35,000 people are expected to attend the conference in person besides being held virtually.
Five finalists have been selected by a panel of experts and investors based on criteria like impact, innovation, scalability. They will have the opportunity to pitch their projects on stage to a panel of top investors. The winning startup will receive attractive prizes.
The 2021 Finalists are – Cureety is from France which is “improving cancer patients telemonitoring in real-life conditions, and supporting the advancement of medical research in cancerology. ILof is a Portugal-based firm engaged in Cloud-Based of Disease Biomarkers and Biological Profiles to severely cut the time and the cost of drug discovery”.
Shotl from Spain is “A mobility platform that empowers public transport operators to supply on-demand mobility services through a network of vans and small buses”. WeWALK from UK is “Enhancing the mobility of visually impaired people”.
Yabx of India is a fintech venture aimed at simplifying financial access to about two billion under-banked people in the emerging markets of Africa, Asia and Latin America. It uses technology and analytics to reduce the cost of delivering financial services.
