In a major boost to India’s fintech ambitions and its global financial services roadmap, Infibeam Avenues Ltd on Tuesday announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, IA Fintech IFSC Private Ltd (IA Fintech), has received in-principle approval from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) to operate as a Payment Service Provider (PSP) at the Gujarat International Finance Tec‑City – International Financial Services Centre (GIFT-IFSC) in Gandhinagar.
The regulatory clearance empowers IA Fintech to offer a robust suite of digital payments, cross-border remittances, escrow services, and merchant acquiring specifically to businesses operating within the GIFT-IFSC ecosystem and in international markets. The move is designed to transform payment flows from conventional, multi-step correspondent banking models into seamless and regulated digital settlement infrastructure.
“We are delighted with this approval and deeply grateful to the IFSCA for their trust in our fintech capabilities. This opportunity marks an important expansion of our business, creating a new and high-potential revenue stream that can meaningfully contribute to our overall growth,” said Vishal Mehta, Chairman & Managing Director, Infibeam Avenues Ltd.
“Our mission is not just scale, but smart scale — with AI as the catalyst,” he added, highlighting the company’s larger vision beyond payments.
By leveraging its flagship platform and services — including payment gateway, prepaid issuance, migration into cross-border flows and enterprise solutions — Infibeam is positioning IA Fintech as a key enabler of GIFT-IFSC’s ambition to be India’s gateway for global finance, akin to London, Dubai and Singapore.
Currently, GIFT-IFSC hosts a growing ecosystem of over 300+ financial and fintech entities, offering a substantial addressable market for IA Fintech’s regulated payment services. As firms operating in this zone traditionally rely on correspondent banking with delays and high costs, IA Fintech promises near-instant, cost-efficient, transparent international payment solutions.
With this regulatory milestone, Infibeam Avenues not only strengthens its foothold in regulated fintech infrastructure but also underscores GIFT-IFSC’s evolving role as a strategic fintech and global payments hub.
