With an avowed aim to promote and preserve the rich Gujarati language and culture, five dynamic urban women of Ahmedabad — Parthivi Adhyaru Shah, Meeta Shah, Purvi Shah, Bhairavi Lakhani, and Asha Desai — have joined hands to bring out the first of its kind Gujarati book Sakhiri.
The book was launched by well-known neuro physician Dr Sudhir Shah and Dr Prashant Bhimani was the chief guest at a function held on Sunday to mark International Mother Tongue Day in Ahmedabad.
After releasing the book, both frontline corona warriors spoke at length on MRI and EQ reports of these five friends.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, the five friends said, “The very purpose of writing this book in Gujarati is mainly to conserve our mother tongue. To keep off the pandemic blues and use the lockdown constructively, they have decided to write a book throwing light on the rich Gujarati culture and language. Our all-women team has written, authored, conceptualized & designed the book ourselves only.”
Incidentally, these women are related to literature. This book will be an ideal example of promoting the literary skills among the new generation by weaning away from mobile & television.
This book is supported by well-known Gujaratis right from Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani, Bollywood actors Jackie Shroff to Juhi Chawla and many other dignitaries.
The book is presented by POETREE under the umbrella of Shri Harshadkumar Kkeshavlal Adhyaru Charitable Trust.
