International Women’s Day was celebrated at Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) Avadi on Friday The theme for the celebrations was “Each for Equal; An Equal World is an Enabled World”.
In his address, I. Easwaran, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai explained about the awareness and safety features of the Mobile APP “Kavalan SOS”.
The Chief Guest Loganayaki Ramachandran, the Editor, Kumudam–Snehidhee gave an inspiring speech on women empowerment and highlighted women’s contribution to the society.
While addressing at the function, V Balamurugan, Director, CVRDE elaborated about achievements of women and their indispensable role at workplace and at home.
He congratulated all the women folk on the occasion. The special guests for the function were Dr Veena Balamurugan, President, Women’s Welfare Association and Jayashree Varadhan, Outstanding Scientist of CVRDE.
Cultural programmes by the students of MIT, Chennai and CVRDE women employees enthralled the audience.
