Thoothukudi and the surrounding districts were flooded due to the recent heavy rains, causing a significant impact on the residents as flood water seeped into homes and businesses. In response, Isha’s medical team visited Thoothukudi on the 25th of December to assist, offering medical services with the help of Isha volunteers across the district.
Isha’s mobile clinic vehicles are also delivering medical services to remote villages that lack transportation. 12,000 patients have been helped so far. As part of the relief efforts, a specially formulated herbal concoction has been distributed in 500,000 teacups to boost immunity.
The majority of camp attendees are experiencing symptoms such as fever, cold, cough, sores, skin issues, and body aches. They are examined by doctors and provided with necessary medications. In some areas, the overwhelming number of patients has led to shortages of medications for conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure. Recognizing this, the Isha medical team is offering free medications to those in need. It is worth noting that the Isha medical team has previously assisted the public during the Chennai flood.
