RAJKOT, MAR 1

Wockhardt Hospitals Ltd, a leading healthcare provider in India, organized a Patient Safety Programme at its Rajkot facility on Tuesday. The program aimed to raise awareness about the importance of patient safety and empowering patients to actively participate in their care.

Talking about the Patient Safety session, Dr. Clive Fernandes, Group Clinical Director & Group Chief Operating Officer Wockhardt Hospitals; Consultant Joint Commission International USA said, “Nowadays I see so many conferences and lectures happening on patient safety which is very good, but how much of the information exchanged actually percolates down back to the organization, is shared with stake holders on the ground and actually results in improvement of processes is a big question mark. Hence during this visit of mine I decided to actually focus inwards and share with my Consultants, nurses and associates from all departments a talk on how the different safety protocols we have defined help improve patient safety and prevent harm.”

He further added, “I believe at Wockhardt Hospitals patient safety is not just a goal; it is our guiding principle woven into the fabric of our organization. Our team of healthcare professionals work collaboratively to implement our defined patient protocols 365*24*7 thus prioritizing the well-being and safety of every patient who walks through our doors.”

Some of the key themes Dr. Clive Fernandes focused on included: 1.   Effective Communication, 2.   Teamwork and Collaboration, 3.   Risk Identification and Mitigation and 4.   Patient Engagement and Education

Sharing views on patient safety, Dr. Manish Agarwal, Center Head, Wockhardt Hospitals, Rajkot said, “At Wockhardt Hospitals, we have always prioritized patient safety. All our clinical and operational protocols are defined keeping patient safety in mind. We conduct awareness programs regularly to reinforce among all our associates our defined protocols to ensure that at Wockhardt Hospitals Life Wins.”
