Ahmedabad’s Navratri celebrations are about to acquire an even more delicious dimension, as ITC Narmada brings the flavours of the festival to the table with Navam Utsav, a thoughtfully curated culinary celebration where traditional recipes, sattvik goodness and contemporary culinary finesse come together in a sumptuous festive spread.
From the irresistible comfort of Sabudana Khichdi and Sabudana Vada to crisp Kuttu Paneer Pakoda, wholesome Rajgira Poori, soft Kuttu Paratha, comforting Paneer Curry and the sweet-and-tangy Khatta Meetha Kaddu, Navam Utsav celebrates the familiar flavours that have long been part of Navratri kitchens across India.
The offering, titled “Navam Utsav, a Wholesome Delights for Festivities”, is part of a nationwide initiative by ITC Hotels, bringing specially curated Navratri culinary experiences to guests across its luxury properties.
Deeply rooted in India’s cultural heritage, Navratri is a festival where food is as much a part of the celebration as ritual and tradition. At ITC Narmada, this culinary journey brings cherished festive preparations to the table while retaining the warmth, elegance and sense of welcome associated with ITC hospitality.
A feast steeped in festive tradition
The Navam Utsav menu brings together an array of sattvik Navratri preparations, made without onion and garlic and prepared with Sendha Namak. The carefully assembled menu celebrates ingredients traditionally associated with fasting and festive observances while giving them the refined touch of the hotel’s culinary team.
For those seeking a complete festive experience, the Navratri Special Thali brings together a selection of these preparations as a wholesome meal, complemented by traditional sweet indulgences including Sabudana Kheer and Khopra Pak.
It is a spread designed not merely to satisfy the appetite, but to evoke the nostalgia of festive kitchens — familiar flavours, comforting textures and recipes that connect generations.
“Navratri is a time when food becomes an important part of the festive experience, with traditional recipes bringing together simplicity, nourishment and familiar flavours. With Navam Utsav, we have curated a selection of sattvik preparations that honour these traditions while bringing a thoughtful culinary touch to the menu. From sabudana and kuttu to rajgira and traditional festive sweets, the offering allows guests to enjoy the flavours of Navratri in a wholesome and comforting way,” said Sumeet Rohela, Executive Chef, ITC Narmada.
Where tradition meets the ITC culinary touch
Navam Utsav takes forward ITC Narmada’s belief in creating experiences rooted in the culture and traditions of India. The curation combines authentic festive traditions, sattvik goodness and chef-led craftsmanship, allowing guests to experience food that remains familiar in spirit while benefiting from the culinary expertise of the hotel.
The offering also reflects the larger ITC Hotels ethos of creating authentic, indigenous experiences inspired by India’s rich cultural and culinary heritage.
This Navratri, therefore, the invitation is simple: pause, gather around the table and savour the flavours that make the festival special — the traditions we inherit, the food we share and the warmth of being together.
