Launching the Kapu Nestham programme here, the Chief Minister said, the government has been implementing welfare schemes in a transparent manner giving no scope for any corruption as the amount is directly credited into the bank account of the beneficiaries.
The State has so far spent, during its 13 months in office, over Rs 43,000 crore benefiting 3.98 crore people which went directly into their bank accounts without any pilferage.
YSR Kapu Nestham provides financial assistance of Rs 15,000 to women belonging to Kapu community and those who are in the age group of 45-60. In a period of five years they will be getting a total of Rs 75,000. About Rs 354 crore is distributed to over 2.36 lakh women having rice cards and belonging to Kapu, Balija, Telaga and Ontari communities.
This was another promise given by YS Jagan Mohan Redddy during his 3,648 km padayatra and was included in the manifesto that translated into reality with the launch of the scheme.
If there are any left outs, they can apply and will get the benefit within one month. The amount is deposited as unencumbered amount. The list of beneficiaries will be displayed at Village Secretariat, the Chief Minister said.
Under Amma Vodi, Vasati Deevena, Viya Deevana, Vahana Mitra, Chedodu, Videsi Viday Deevena and Kapu Nestham and other schemes more than 23 lakh people of Kapu community were given Rs 4,470 crores, he said.
The previous government made tall promises for the welfare of Kapu community promising that it will spend Rs 1,000 crores per annum but has allotted a meagre Rs 400 crore on an average for the five years it was in office. But our government has spent Rs 4,770 crores in just one year for the Kapu community, the Chief Minister said
Several beneficiaries, who interacted with the Chief Minister by video conference thanked him for the amount coming in at hard times and said that they did not receive any benefit from the previous government. Many of them said that they have received Amma Vodi, Jagananna Vidya Deevena and other welfare schemes adding that never before such a transparency was shown the implementation of the welfare schemes and money coming directly into their bank account.
