Andhra Pradesh government has decided to issue free house site patta (title deeds) to poor and downtrodden before Ugadi (Telegu New Year) festival.
In connection with this, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday directed the officials to identify the land within a week.
Presiding over the review meeting here, the Chief Minister ordered the officials to prepare the pattas with security features. For the same, the officials have shown some samples to the Chief Minister.
Officials said to Chief Minister that few works were remaining; district wise identification of beneficiaries and reviewing identified areas, collecting land from Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, and Guntur districts. The Chief Minister directed the officials to complete the process of identifying lands for the house pattas within a week and also ordered that land should be given to eligible people who remained without a house.
So far 22,46,139 beneficiaries were identified, of which 11,77,260 were from rural areas and 10,99,160 were from urban areas. And 22,461 acres of land was available.
Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and CS Neelam Sawhney were among those present at the meeting.
