A senior Group ‘A’ officer of the Indian Information Service, M Jaya Singh, has on Friday assumed charge as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ministry of Defence, Chennai.
In addition to this new role, Jaya Singh will continue to serve as Deputy Director (News) at Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), Chennai.
This appointment follows the transfer of the incumbent, M. Ponnein Selvan, who has been promoted to Joint Director at the Central Bureau of Communication, New Delhi.
Jaya Singh brings extensive experience from his tenure in the Indian Information Service, which began in December 1993. He has served in various media units within the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, including All India Radio News, DD News, Press Information Bureau, and the Directorate of Public Relations, Ministry of Defence, in New Delhi.
