Jio Institute, in collaboration with the Indian Sport Management Association (INSMA), has announced the second edition of the Indian Sport Management Conference (INSMA 2025), scheduled to be held on December 19, 2025, at the Jio Institute campus in Navi Mumbai.
Recognised as India’s flagship national platform for sport management discourse, INSMA 2025 will bring together academia, industry leaders, policymakers, elite athletes, administrators and global experts for in-depth dialogue, research exchange and collaboration. The conference is strategically timed with India’s aspiration to host the 2036 Olympic Games, making it a pivotal forum for shaping long-term sporting excellence.
The theme of INSMA 2025, “Olympic Vision 2036: Converging India’s Aspirations, Capabilities and Competencies for a Global Sporting Stage,” reflects the country’s ambition to not only host but also excel at the 2036 Olympics. Aligned with the National Sports Policy 2025 and Vision 2036, the conference will examine how talent development, sports science, digital innovation, entrepreneurship and policy reforms can collectively strengthen India’s sporting ecosystem.
The one-day conference will feature keynote addresses, high-level panel discussions and over 25 peer-reviewed research paper presentations, with a strong focus on bridging academic research and real-world sport management practice. Key thematic areas include high-performance excellence, grassroots participation, sports technology and innovation, inclusivity and social impact, sustainable sport economies, and governance frameworks.
INSMA 2025 will host a distinguished line-up of speakers and panellists from India and abroad, including senior policymakers, sports administrators, Olympians, industry leaders and academic experts. The speakers include Ms Vita Dani, Co-Owner, Chennaiyin FC and Promoter, Dani Sports Foundation; Col N.S. Johal, CEO, TOPS, Sports Authority of India; Mr Narendra Modi, GM (Planning & Coordination), Gujarat Sports Infrastructure Development; Dr Adille Sumariwalla, Ex-Olympian and Council Member & Vice President, World Athletics; Mr Divyanshu Singh, CEO, JSW Sports; Dr Kamila Swart-Arries, Associate Professor & Director, HBKU Qatar; Prof Simon Shibli, Professor of Sport Management, Loughborough University; and Mr Murugesh Kumar SK, Founder & CEO, ATIUM Sports, among others.
