Jio Platforms, through a subsidiary, is collaborating with fabless semiconductor company MediaTek, to launch smart digital cluster and smart modules specially tailored for the two-wheeler market in India and globally, a statement said.

The new collaboration brings together the MediaTek MT8766 and MT8768 chipsets with Jio Things’ 2W Module, Avni OS, and Jio Automotive App Suite. This combination is set to provide seamless performance and support for up to Full HD+ resolution touchscreen displays.
The JioThings smart digital cluster, based on the AvniOS operating system, offers OEMs a competitive edge with strong MediaTek chipset performance and critical firmware/base OS support. The system enables real-time data analytics, customisable interfaces, voice recognition, and comprehensive integration with vehicle controllers, IoT-enabled charging infrastructure, and Smart Battery Management Systems optimised for EVs. Additionally, the Jio Automotive App Suite includes services like Jio Voice Assistant, JioSaavn, JioPages, and JioXploR, providing a holistic experience for 2-wheeler users.

The MediaTek MT8766 and MT8768 chipsets are mid-range SoCs for Android-based smartphones and tablets, integrating an octa-core CPU with two clusters: four ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2 GHz and four ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2 GHz for efficiency. The integrated 5G modem enhances connectivity, and the ISP supports up to 108-megapixel cameras. The ARM Mali-G57 MC4 GPU operates at up to 780 MHz, and the chip is manufactured using a 6nm process.
