In light of the current COVID-19 situation, Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd. (KNPL), one of the top paint companies in India has announced its support to Stanley Medical College in Chennai for creating a new Covid-19 ward.
Nerolac will supply paint to transform the college hospital’s 50,000 sq. meter isolation ward that has been created for people who have been detected COVID19 positive. The isolation ward will house over 400 beds.
P Balaji, Dean and Medical Superintendent, Stanley Medical College commented, “It is during these trying times we must come together to alleviate the suffering of others. We are hopeful that this new isolation facility being created within the Stanley Medical College premises will be helpful to fight the ill-effects of the Covid19 virus and aid in the recovery process. We are extremely thankful to the state Health Ministry for helping us create this infrastructure and partners like Kansai Nerolac who have come forward voluntarily to support us in this hour of collective need.”
Speaking about the initiative, Sudhir Rane, Kansai Nerolac Paints said, “With the Covid-19 pandemic continuing to affect a large number of people, it is heart-warming to see hospitals and healthcare professionals work selflessly and tirelessly towards the wellbeing of the affected patients. We are thankful to Stanley Medical College for extending to us an opportunity to do our bit. Continuing our support for the initiatives built under “My Hospital My Pride” in Tamil Nadu and the patients’ wellbeing the utmost importance, the ward will be transformed into a sanitized and healthy space with the use of our painting products.”
Work on the new Covid19 Isolation Ward has already commenced and the infrastructure team is working swiftly to ensure that the ward is ready and operational within this week, a release from the company said.
