CHENNAI, DEC 23

In a significant advancement in digital healthcare and emergency response, Kauvery Hospital has on Tuesday launched a one-tap ‘SOS’ emergency feature on its Kauvery KARE app, aimed at delivering faster, simpler, and more reliable medical assistance during critical situations.

Designed for moments when every second counts, the SOS feature allows users or bystanders to summon emergency medical help with a single tap, removing the need to remember emergency numbers, explain symptoms, or struggle to communicate location details amid panic or confusion.

A standout feature of the innovation is its automatic GPS-based location capture, which instantly identifies the user’s exact location and enables the nearest Kauvery ambulance to be dispatched without delay. This ensures swift on-ground response even when the patient is unable to speak or is unfamiliar with their surroundings. Touch of Kauvery KARE app, a dedicated 24/7 Emergency Recovery team will connect with the patient or the bystanders/assistant’s on real-time basis to give first aid till they reach the ER facility of the Hospital.

  • Kauvery Hospital unveils ‘SOS’ feature on Kauvery KARE App for instant emergency response
  • GPS-enabled ambulance dispatch and 24/7 doctor video support integrated in a single tap
  • Eliminates panic, delays and confusion during medical emergencies
  • A major digital health leap reinforcing Kauvery’s patient-first innovation
  • Available across iOS and Android Platforms

Simultaneously, the SOS function connects the user to a Kauvery doctor through a 24/7 video consultation, offering real-time medical guidance, reassurance, and critical first-response advice until the ambulance arrives. This seamless integration of emergency transport and live clinical support bridges the vital gap between the onset of a medical emergency and hospital care.

Explore Medical Tourism through Road Shows in US Cities

Inaugurating the ‘SOS’ Application, Mr Suresh Sambandam, Founder and CEO, Kissflow, said, “True innovation turns complex problems into simple solutions. Kauvery KARE does exactly that—putting lifesaving care with just one tap away. It is inspiring to see a Tamil Nadu leader using digital innovation to solve real world needs and create a massive impact.”

An architect in promoting start-up eco-system in Tamil Nadu, Mr Surresh Sambandam said the Tamil Nadu’s economic growth is 16%, which is ahead of   national level. Tamil Nadu is ahead in many fronts including Doctor-Citizen ratio, i.e. it has 254 doctors per 1000 people, as it is higher than Doctor-Citizen Ratio at national-level and also the US, he added.

Mr Suresh Sambandam suggested the Kauvery Group of Hospitals to explore Medical Tourism by way of organising Road Shows in major cities across United States to woo American citizens to India for the world-class medical treatments beig offerred here.

Addressing at the launch, Dr Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Kauvery Group of Hospitals, said, “Today, mobile apps have become a natural part of how people manage their daily lives—from mobility to basic essentials that reach them within minutes. When convenience and speed are already expected in these areas, healthcare cannot remain an exception. During medical emergencies, every second matters. During such moments it is natural for patient or their attenders to be worried and in times of panic they will be unable to reach out for help or explain their situation which can lead to delays. Our goal is to remove complexity from emergency care. With the Kauvery KARE SOS feature, help is just one tap away.”

Beyond emergency response, the Kauvery KARE app functions as a comprehensive digital healthcare ecosystem, enabling users to book appointments across all Kauvery Hospital units, choose video or in-person consultations, access health reports digitally, and manage medical records for multiple family members through a single interface. The app is available on both iOS and Android platforms.

The launch of the one-tap SOS feature underscores Kauvery Hospital’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance accessibility, responsiveness, and continuity of care. By integrating life-saving emergency response with everyday healthcare services, Kauvery KARE positions itself as a dependable, all-in-one digital health companion—available anytime, anywhere.
