The Government of Gujarat has conceded to the long-pending demand of the permanent staff of the Institute of Kidney Diseases & Research Centre (IKDRC) to implement Seventh Pay Commission salary from this month, sources said.
The implementation of Seventh Pay Commission recommendations to salary grades of all permanent staff of the Institute of Kidney Diseases & Research Centre (IKDRC) has brought cheers to the doctors, nurses, paramedic and clerical staff at the institute.
“We see it as recognition of services rendered by IKDRC staff to its regular patients and to those we have tended to during functioning of the hospital as Covid-19 care facility. This is a timely and surprise gift given by the state government. And we are thankful for our honourable Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel,” Dr Vineet Mishra, Director IKDRC-ITS said in a statement on Saturday.
IKDRC has a strength of around 600 permanent staff who will get benefits with the implementation of seventh pay commission recommendations. The recommendation will be effective from the month of August 2020 and arrears would be paid at a later stage.
The demand was pending since 2016 as the institute was left out of benefits when recommendations were implemented across other state government departments.
