As part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, commemorating 75 years of Independence, Konark Corps flagged off a cycling expedition from Vigokot Fort in Gujrat on Wednesday, says a Defence release.

This expedition will cover a distance of 1,600-km and travel through 75 Border villages of Gujarat and Rajasthan to promote the spirit of adventure and spread awareness about Agnipath Scheme amongst the youth. 32 soldiers are participating in the expedition, which will culminate at Jodhpur Military Station on March 10, 2023.
The expedition aims to enhance outreach and motivate youth to join Armed Forces. To educate youth about Agnipath Scheme, interactive sessions will be organized to provide information of various aspects during visit to border villages. The participants will motivate students and younger generation to take up the profession of Armed Forces and serve the nation with pride.
The participants in the rally will also distribute pamphlets containing entitlements to the Ex-Servicemen and express gratitude to ‘Veer Naris’ for their sacrifice by felicitating at various locations.
