In the age of digital acceleration, the adoption of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is need of the hour for the industries. With this aim, the GoodBooks Centre of Excellence was inaugurated on Wednesday, at 737 D, Elgi Towers, Greenfields in Coimbatore. It was inaugurated by Velumani Babu, Managing Partner , Sharp Liqtech, Coimbatore. The Training Centre was inaugurated by Nagarathinam Jagadeesan, IT Head of Messer Cutting Systems India Pvt Ltd.
The Centre of Excellence aims to create a key-driver for the industries to adopt Digital transformation across all verticals with specific focus on the usage of ERP platforms, a tried and trusted tool to improve organizations’ productivity and effective decision-making. The COE (Centre of Excellence) brings together 30 years of experience of GoodBooks to create a bouquet of strategic activities like a lab, R&D for futuristic products and services , a think-tank comprising of IT and industry professionals along with a training and certification of fresh graduates and aspiring professionals in the ERP domain to provide industry-ready competencies.

The sole objective is bringing all the constituents of the industry and the COE to look at adoption of technology to solve industry- specific problems/challenges.
One of the activities will be to train and certify fresher from Engineering and Arts and Science Stream students and also aspiring professionals, in ERP implementation, to fulfill the internal captive requirements and also of client organizations. The curriculum will look at managing capacity at the user, admin and implementation level. The initiative has already been kickstarted with the induction of 20 students from campuses as interns with the organisation.

According to V Venkatesan, CEO and Chief Architect of the GoodBooks, “The need for ramping up the skilled personnel for ERP implementation has been felt during our interactions with our clients as there is always a dearth of skilled implementation experts, which is essential for the successful implementation of an ERP system”. Data Management helps accurate decision making and ERP helps to this end.

The occasion saw participants from Academia and Industries who are the other important stakeholders in the eco system. It is an initiative that will be a win -win for all the stakeholders and improve the overall performance of all concerned, was the view of the participants.
