R ARIVANANTHAM
The trailer of Tere Ishk Mein didn’t just drop—it detonated across the internet. Within moments of its release, the A.R. Rahman musical began trending, sparking an avalanche of conversations, fan theories and admiration for its raw, aching intensity. Directed by Aanand L Rai and jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, the trailer clocked an astonishing 90.24 million views across platforms, confirming the film’s arrival as one of the year’s most anticipated love stories.
Amid this rising wave of excitement, Kriti Sanon has offered a rare and revealing insight into the emotional and physical depth required to portray her character, Mukti—a woman shaped by silence, scars and complex choices.

“Mukti’s character has a very diverse graph,” Kriti said, reflecting on the role. “Where she starts, what she becomes, the decisions she makes… there are so many layers. A lot of things are not said in words—there’s no dialogue sometimes to help you. It has to be translated through your eyes. That was something new, and I really enjoyed it.”

Her journey into the character, however, came with a heavy emotional toll. Speaking candidly about filming the most challenging sequences, she shared:
“There are a lot of really intense scenes—the pre-climax and the climax especially—which were very, very long. We shot them over 5–6 days, and it was draining both physically and emotionally. I could feel the low energy on set, even in my vanity. Some days, when I went back home, it stayed with me. That scene is the peak of emotions, the most intense part of the film, and it pulled me down the most.”
Kriti’s reflections reveal the internal storms behind the performance—how Mukti’s silence demanded as much strength as her breaking points, and how embodying her required both vulnerability and power. As Rahman’s music continues to sweep listeners away and the trailer’s momentum grows, her portrayal already stands out as one of the film’s defining forces.
