The biggest consumer electronics show, CES2024 will take place in Las Vegas from January 9 to 14. Attendees from all over the world, including India will be there. In 2024, CES attendees will see smart mobility in vehicle tech demonstrated live and, in many cases, before the rest of the world gets a peek.

The sector encompasses advanced technology-driven transportation solutions on land, sea and air that are headed to both the consumer and commercial markets. From healthcare to transportation, smart home solutions, AI advancements and beyond, CES 2024 will shine a light on tech innovation that will change our world for the better.

CES 2024 will feature the latest developments across the entire ecosystem from AI, sensors and advanced to fully autonomous vehicles. While self-driving passenger cars have been on the CES scene for years, more self-driving commercial trucks and industrial machines are appearing at the show as businesses seek to boost safety, sustainability and productivity. Also, marine vessels represent a new frontier for self-driving and other technologies. In the skies, advanced air mobility is an emerging trend in smart mobility. Solutions range from drones that deliver packages to electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
Featured exhibitors in smart mobility include Caterpillar and John Deere, brands known worldwide for, respectively, the manufacture of construction and mining equipment, and agricultural machinery, heavy equipment, forestry machinery and diesel engines. CES 2024 will also bring to the world stage startups breaking new ground in moving people and goods farther, faster and more efficiently. Hyundai and KIA will be participating or the first time. Hyundai CEO Kisun Chung will be there too address the gathering.
Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger will deliver the keynote address at CES 2024. On January 9, alongside CNBC Nasdaq correspondent Kristina Partsinevelos, Gelsinger will discuss the critical roles that Silicon and software play in making AI more accessible, providing powerful compute and enabling modern economies.
“AI is fueling a fundamental shift, driving interconnectivity between technology and humanity,” Gelsinger said. “At the center of this transition is silicon. Whether it is your PC, the checkout at your local retail store or your personal automobile, semiconductors are essential to maintaining and enabling our modern economies and lifestyles. At CES 2024, we will explore how these chips – amplified by innovative and open software – are enabling AI capabilities for consumers and business alike, creating a better, more sustainable and inclusive future for all.” Besides Gelsinger, several other CEOs will be keynoting at the conference. Intel’s prime competitor in AI chips, Nvidia, will be there. Nvidia, will provide a streamed special address on Jan 8.
While AI will be dominating at CES 2024 there would be display of a wide range of technologies that will be on display. Many of the consumer devices on display and a variety of products and innovations in early stages of development will rely on AI functionality, or will be promoted as such, according to industry.
Qualcomm has also emerged as an AI chip leader, and CEO Cristiano Amon will make be there on January 10. Hyundai and KIA will be participating or the first time. Hyundai CEO Kisun Chung will be there too.
Consumer Technology Association CEO Gary Shapiro and other CTA officials said CES24 will have 10 per cent more show floor space than last year, reaching 2.4 million square feet across several massive Vegas venues, including the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Venetian. There will be 3,500 exhibitors, including 1,000 startups and more than half the Fortune 500.
CES 2023 attendance topped 117,000, which was 70% bigger than the prior year, when the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic was still being felt. This year it is expected to be more than last year, though the officials did not say any number.
