A leopard has been on the prowl in Thalavady village in Erode district, giving residents a scare. The big cat reportedly entered a farmhouse in Thalavady forest Range under the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve (STR) on Monday midnight, killed a goat and left the area, forest officials said.
Couple of days ago, the wild animal strayed into Mulkuthipuram, also in Thalawady forest area, killed two dogs in two places, the officials said. Based on a complaint, the officials visited the spot, verified the pug marks and decided to place a cage there to trap the animal.
