Lieutenant General PS Minhas handed over the reins of Konark Corps to Lieutenant General Rakesh Kapoor on Monday. During his tenure of one year, Lieutenant General PS Minhas lead the Konark Corps to new heights of professionalism and administrative excellence, says a release.

Lieutenant General Rakesh Kapoor during his service career spanning thirty-five years, has held prestigious Command, Staff and Instructional appointments both in India and abroad.
The General Officer has commanded an Armoured Brigade and a Division in the Desert Sector. He has been instructor at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and Army War College, Mhow. His Staff assignments include serving in an Independent Armoured Brigade, frontline Division in Eastern Sector, in a Command Headquarters, Strategic Forces Command and Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence. He has served as an Advisor to the Botswana Defence Forces. The General Officer is a graduate of the US Army War College.
Prior to this, he was the Director General, Capability Development at Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army) at New Delhi, responsible for capital acquisition, policy formulation and coordinating capabilities.
On assuming the command of Konark Corps, he exhorted All Ranks to focus on operational preparedness for assured victory in the modern day battle field and combat readiness with realistic training to achieve highest level of professional competence.
