The ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu on Thursday said party president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will attend an INDIA bloc election rally in Coimbatore on April 12.
Single phase polls to 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu will be held on April 19.
A DMK release here said the two leaders will participate in the rally and seek support for candidates of the opposition bloc.
The public meeting will be held in Coimbatore’s Chettypalayam area.
Don’t give another chance to BJP to rule the country: Kamal Haasan
Ulaga Nayagan and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) founder Kamal Haasan on Wednesday, appealed to the people of Tamil Nadu to not give another chance to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP to rule the country.
Canvassing for votes for VCK president and the INDIA bloc’s Chidambaram (Reserved) candidate Thol Thirumavalavan in Chidambaram on Wednesday night, Haasan said the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was totally against social justice. The BJP was also against democracy, and if it was elected to power again, the country would be totally deprived of democratic principles, he said.
